DescriptionAt Lufa Farms, we’re on a mission to create a better food system by growing food where people live and growing it responsibly. Through our production kitchen, we prepare ready-to-eat meals that reflect our commitment to quality, food safety, and sustainability. As we open our new kitchen, we’re looking for an Assembly Cook to join the team.In this hands-on, execution-focused role, you’ll support daily meal assembly and preparation while strictly following standardized recipes, portions, and procedures. You’ll work in a structured, high-volume production environment, collaborating closely with the kitchen team to ensure consistent quality and food safety.Responsibilities•Assemble meals by strictly following standardized recipes and portion guidelines;•Prepare ingredients, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables;•Support basic preparation of rice, meat, and chicken as needed;•Use kitchen equipment safely, including combi ovens, following provided training;•Ensure quality, consistency, and accuracy of assembled products;•Apply proper hygiene and food safety practices at all times;•Maintain clean and organized workstations;•Follow internal procedures and health and safety standards;•Collaborate effectively with the kitchen team.Requirements•1 to 3 years of experience in a professional kitchen or food production environment;•Basic kitchen skills (cutting, preparation, assembly);•Ability to follow recipes and procedures with precision;•Strong attention to detail and consistency;•Availability to work weekends;•Reliable, organized, and team-oriented.Assets•Experience in assembly cooking or food production;•MAPAQ certification or food safety training.Schedule•Full-time position, 40 hours per week;•Schedule includes weekends;•Start date: mid-February.Compensation & benefits•Salary is to be determined based on the experience and knowledge of the candidate;•You’ll be eligible to participate in the firm’s health insurance, dental, and disability programs after completion of a probationary period (paid 50% by the employee and 50% by Lufa Farms);•Access to TELUS Health Virtual Care (direct contact to health professionals by phone, video, or chat) and the Employee and Family Assistance Program (professional, short-term counselling, covering a broad range of interpersonal issues);•30% discount on your Lufa Farms basket.
