DescriptionAt Lufa Farms, we’re on a mission to create a better food system, and a huge part of this is achieved by growing food where people live, and growing it responsibly. To do this, we built the world’s first commercial rooftop greenhouse and partnered with hundreds of local farms and food makers to assemble and deliver thousands of customized baskets filled with fresh, local, responsible food to our customers across Quebec every week. To build a full range of products tailored to our Lufavores taste buds, we launched a Night Kitchen, and we’re looking for a Team Lead with some management experience to keep things running smoothly.The Night Kitchen Team Lead plays a key role in preparing and producing fresh, high-quality juices, smoothies, and other products. They make sure that all daily orders are fulfilled, all equipment is properly maintained, and the kitchen is kept clean and organized. They’re responsible for supporting the team by maintaining high standards of food safety, efficiency, and cleanliness, while also helping with prep work for the following day’s operations. Responsibilities•Supervise team members during daily tasks to ensure efficiency and quality;•Train new team members and provide ongoing guidance as needed;•Prepare fresh juices, smoothies, and other beverages following established recipes;•Safely operate and maintain juicing equipment, blenders, and other appliances;•Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized kitchen environment, including equipment and storage areas;•Follow all food safety and hygiene guidelines, including cleaning dishes and storing ingredients properly;•Monitor and manage inventory levels for fresh produce and supplies;•Receive and organize deliveries, ensuring proper storage for freshness;•Ensure consistent quality of juices, smoothies, and other menu items;•Track and rotate ingredients to maintain freshness and prevent waste;•Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to support smooth night operations;•Assist in closing tasks, including securing the kitchen and prepping for the next day;•Adhere to safety and cleanliness protocols for handling and storing food and maintaining equipment.Requirements•Some management experience of any kind;•Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately;•Ability to work independently and as part of a team;•Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment;•Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends;•Good organizational skills to keep the kitchen and inventory running smoothly.Assets•Previous kitchen or food service experience;•Familiarity with juicing equipment and kitchen appliances is a plus.Schedule•Night shift (4 am to 11 am).Compensation & benefits:•Salary to be determined based on the candidate’s experience and knowledge;•You’ll be eligible to participate in the firm’s health insurance, dental and disability programs after completion of the probationary period (paid 50% by the employee and 50% by Lufa Farms);•Access to TELUS Health Virtual Care (direct contact to health professionals by phone, video, or chat) and the Employee and Family Assistance Program (professional, short-term counselling, covering a broad range of interpersonal issues);•30% discount on your Lufa Farms basket.
